Intellectual property right slows down the research (Nature | doi:10.1038/news.2011.93) but screening a single molecule from thousands of molecule and analysis costs a lot. To overcome cost in due time drug discovery task has to be categorized in basic research, clinical trial and production. The first two categories needs money and intellectual capacity and third one is money maker and they should be equally profited as the producer in case any molecule is going for production scale. A research grant should be distributed to multi institutional setup where scientist, clinician and company work on same target that will surely be great step to chase disease. The effort laid by Bountra is really appreciating and it will work.
